Privacy Policy

PocketBooks Poker (“App,” “Service”) is provided by Desert Spore LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Summary

Session ledger data (players, buy-ins, markers, tips, chip counts, and related session details) is designed to live on your device. Account email and subscription status are processed on our servers so we can authenticate you and manage access. Payment processing is handled by Stripe.

2. Information we collect

• Email address — when you request a magic link, create an account, subscribe, or redeem a promo code.
• Subscription & billing metadata — subscription status, trial/promo end dates, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers needed to deliver paid access. We do not store full card numbers.
• Promo redemptions — codes you redeem and related access grants.
• Technical logs — standard server logs (e.g. timestamps, request paths, error messages) used to operate and secure the Service.

On-device ledger content (names, amounts, signatures, receipt photos, session notes) remains on your device unless you choose to share it outside the App. We do not require uploading that content to use the core ledger features.

3. How we use information

• Authenticate you via magic-link email and open the App or subscription flow.
• Create and maintain your subscription, trial, or promo access.
• Process payments and invoices through Stripe.
• Prevent abuse, troubleshoot outages, and improve reliability.
• Communicate service-related messages (e.g. sign-in links, billing notices).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

4. Sharing

We share information only as needed to run the Service:

• Supabase — authentication and account/subscription records.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• Email delivery — transactional magic-link and account emails.
• Legal — if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

5. Data retention

We retain account and subscription records for as long as your account is active and as needed for billing, security, and legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account email and related server records by contacting us (see below). On-device data is under your control; deleting the App removes local ledger storage on that device.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to a small subscription service (HTTPS, access-controlled databases, and limited service credentials). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Your choices

• You may stop using the Service and cancel a subscription through Stripe’s customer portal or by contacting us.
• You may request access to or deletion of account data we hold by emailing us.
• Device permissions (e.g. camera for receipts, photo library) are optional and controlled in iOS Settings.

9. International users

We are based in the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
